Foot Conditions Treatment in Germany

The human foot is a complex structure of 26 bones, 33 joints, over 100 ligaments, and 20 muscles designed for shock absorption and stable walking. With each step the foot absorbs 1.5x body weight, and during running — 3–4x. Unsurprisingly, foot conditions are among the most common orthopedic problems. German podiatric surgery (foot surgery) holds leading positions in Europe, offering everything from conservative orthopedics to minimally invasive surgery and innovative MIBRAR® therapy.

The Foot — Body's Foundation

A healthy foot has two arches: longitudinal (heel to metatarsal heads) and transverse (arch between 1st and 5th metatarsal heads). These arches work like car suspension — absorbing impacts during walking and adapting to uneven surfaces. When foot biomechanics are disrupted — flatfoot, valgus deformity, Achilles tendon shortening — load distribution changes not just in the foot but throughout the entire kinetic chain: ankle, knee, hip joints, and spine begin working improperly, leading to premature wear. That's why foot treatment is about restoring biomechanics of the entire musculoskeletal system.

Common Conditions

Hallux ValgusBig toe valgus deformity — "bunion." Most common forefoot conditionHallux Valgus treatment
Hallux RigidusBig toe MTP joint arthrosis — pain and stiffnessHallux Rigidus treatment
Morton's NeuromaInterdigital nerve thickening — burning forefoot painMorton's neuroma treatment

All listed conditions are included in the indications for innovative MIBRAR® therapy by Prof. Babayan.

Diagnosis in Germany

German podiatric clinics have a complete diagnostic equipment spectrum. Weight-bearing foot radiography (standing) in AP and lateral projections is the baseline method for measuring deformity angles, evaluating arches, and identifying arthrosis and spurs. Foot and ankle MRI visualizes soft tissues including ligaments, tendons, cartilage, nerves, and neuromas. Ultrasound rapidly assesses tendinopathies, neuromas, bursitis, and joint effusion. Pedobarography provides computerized pressure distribution analysis under the foot during walking, showing overloaded zones and guiding insole selection and surgical correction planning. Foot examination takes 1 day in German clinics.

MIBRAR® Therapy for Foot Conditions

The foot is an ideal area for MIBRAR® technology (Prof. Babayan, Munich). Foot joints and tendons are small and readily accessible for targeted autologous regenerative concentrate (ARC) transplantation under ultrasound guidance.

Ankle MRI before and after MIBRAR® therapy

MIBRAR® applications for foot pathology include joint arthrosis (first MTP, ankle, subtalar) with cartilage regeneration and cortisone-free anti-inflammatory effect, plantar fasciitis with fascia regeneration and collagen restoration, Achilles tendinopathy with rupture prevention and structural restoration, Morton's neuroma with neuroregeneration and fibrosis reduction, and ankle ligament tears with accelerated healing and chronic instability prevention.

All procedures use Sono Control Arm™ guidance (0.1 mm precision), are outpatient and anesthesia-free. Only autologous material (CGF method + LIPOGEMS®) is used — without medications or side effects. Full indications at MIBRAR® indications.

Foot Surgery in Germany

German foot surgery (Fußchirurgie) is among the world's most advanced. Podiatric surgeons undergo years of specialized training and command a full arsenal of techniques — from classic open procedures to minimally invasive percutaneous techniques (MIS/MICA). Key areas include Hallux Valgus correction with over 150 osteotomy methods individually selected by radiometric parameters, Hallux Rigidus treatment from cheilectomy to arthrodesis and replacement, lesser toe correction for hammertoe and claw toe deformities, arch reconstruction for adult flatfoot, ankle arthroscopy for arthrosis and impingement, and ankle replacement with 4th-generation prostheses for severe arthrosis.

Most foot operations use regional anesthesia (ankle block), are performed on an outpatient basis or with one overnight stay, and allow walking on the day of surgery in a specialized offloading shoe.

Advantages of Foot Treatment in Germany

German podiatric surgeons bring narrow specialization and years of experience. Individual technique selection by radiometric and biomechanical parameters ensures predictable results. MIBRAR® therapy expands conservative treatment possibilities by regenerating cartilage, tendons, and nerves. Minimally invasive and percutaneous surgical techniques minimize trauma and accelerate recovery. A complete treatment cycle at world-class clinics with multilingual assistance at every stage.
