Meniscus tear is one of the most common knee joint injuries. Menisci are cartilage cushions that absorb load and stabilize the knee. For tears, standard medicine offers arthroscopy — resection (removal) or meniscus suture. MIBRAR® allows meniscus tissue restoration without surgical intervention.
The meniscus has extremely limited blood supply. Only the outer third (red zone) receives blood and is capable of self-healing. The inner two-thirds (white zone) lack blood vessels and practically cannot heal on their own.
Problems with standard treatment:
